I finally got my new .44 Magnum 50th Anniversary Blackhawk put together with the brass gripframe and Old Model Flat Top counterbored cylinder. I am still working on the cylinder latch to keep the cylinder "ring free." This is the first cylinder latch I've done, and it is a good deal more difficult than I thought it would be, but I'm getting there. Anybody else have pictures of Rugers with some New Model and some Old model parts?

Here's my other "hybrid." A New Model .357 with an MR3-DB. I have really grown fond of the .38 special because of this gun.

Blackeagle, a properly tuned NM will have a cylinder ring.

A properly tuned AND handled OM will not.

Rob, did you do the hammers yourself? Those are some awesome guns.
2 dogs, you can modify a New Model cylinder latch so that it does not ring the cylinder, but it's not easy. This OM cylinder has no marks at all and I want to keep it this way. And I really want to be able to handle it and work the action like I do my Old Models. IOWEGAN has one method modifying the hammer plunger and then there's this method, Flatgate posted this picture:
