Old Colt Range Report

I got ahold of a vintage box of Remington factory .38 S & W (or in this case .38 New Colt). There aren't too many so I just wanted to see what it would do. So at 10 yards one handed offhand, this old police issue gun is back on the beat.

Nice old pistol. I'll bet it's as fun to shoot as it looks.

Years ago I had a S&W Victory Model in 38 S&W and found a load that was quite impressive. Since I didn't cast I used 147gr HBWCs over the same charge of powder that the then current Lyman handbook called for their 146gr cast bullet.
It shot amazingly well.

I made the mistake of selling that old shooter to a friend of mine when I was hurting for money. Later when I tried to buy it back he just laughed at me.
