What I am wondering, will Ruger EVER bring back the Old Army??
I spoke with Ruger and the agent did not totally discount the idea, but gave no confirmation either.
Any ideas on the possibility of an Old Army return?

Sure they can make them again - the question is will the BATFE make them become a title 1 firearm and if so would people be interested in buying them anymore...

That has the potential to really hurt the market for Blackpowder revolvers, or so I would think.

I already had a run in with a Gun Broker seller over that point of selling a ROA via FFL. I was, lets say, unkind in words.
I do not think they, BATFE, require such UNLESS a conversion cylinder was included with the purchase of the black powder / muzzle loader.

What I DO know, this will make movement to purchase another ROA and that 1860 Army to the front burner.

Did anyone ever come up with a BATFE document reflecting an FFL-required position on cap and ball revolvers? - just the revolver, not the revolver sold at the same time with a conversion cylinder.

I have five Ruger Old Armies, and three conversion cylinders. I suspect the BATF can do whatever they want and the general public will submit to it. That is what happened back in the thirties when restrictions were put on Thompson and other automatic weapons. Not a one of us is willing to fight for our rights, so we lose them. I won't do any 'paper work' on a muzzle loader, no matter what...
