Odd Values I Cannot Contribute to Politics

I've been seeing (and others have posted threads about) some odd values on firearms that, based on the firearm itself, I cannot contribute to political panic buying.

Here are a few examples:

I cannot see single-shot rifles ever landing on a "ban list", nor do I see rimfire revolvers landing on a naughty list.

(The middle seems more in line, but still seems high. I left it in to highlight the difference)

Here is another comparison pic:

The $1550 one closed one day after the $2130 and included the factory box and paperwork. The $2130 had some minor dings, scratches, and other signs of use, where the "cheaper" one looks unfired.

I know that rarity should play a part, but some of these do not seem rare enough to command the prices they are. Again, I do not think this is politically related, just trying to make sense of things.

Doubt any of those were bought with the idea of “flipping”. :ROFLMAO:

I promise, the second K1-B-BBZ in .30-06 will not be flipped. I've wanted it for too long, I had initially bid on the one that went for $2,130, but just couldn't stand spending that much, even for a "grail gun". I am just trying to understand some of these "outliers".

The $1,725 Hunter in .17HMR was listed as a convertible, but there was no mention of the second cylinder. Hopefully it wasn't a misleading listing that caused the price jump.

IMHO, there are a LOT of people who have a LOT of money. To them, "price is of no object". They see something they want and they either pay the price asked, or bid high enough to discourage any other bidders. I believe that markets are driven by "what the market will bear" i.e. people paying the price. There is one other dynamic that I think may be happening i.e. inflation (real and fake) has driven up prices for new firearms of all types. An otherwise sane person could be noticing that a "plain vanilla" hunting rifle is selling at three or four times what we remember "in the old days"; SO, why not splurge and overpay for something that we've always wanted since we would have to "overpay" for something new, &/or less desirable.
Personally, I have stopped searching for items; I have what I want and won't be driven to pay prices that upset me. I can't help it..!!!!

I've over paid a number of times on something I like at full retail + for a used sample and my "paid too much" purchases probably number the good deals I've had. It all equals out in the long run.

There seems to be a lot of resentment to those who "over pay" and on the other hand laud those who got a good deal essentially gleeful that the original owner screwed himself.

I've dismantled over a dozen of my builds to sell the parts kits to people begging me for them at stupid prices. I tried not to Pillage Them nearly as badly as I could have.

As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases. Product prices and availability are accurate as of the date/time indicated and are subject to change.

I've overpaid on a few items by a lot. A few more by a bit. Some items I've stolen, but never intentionally. I like to think I have never screwed anyone over, even paying over asking for an item because it was priced too low, mostly because the seller had no idea what they had.

For the most part, I feel that most of them have averaged out.

These crazy prices though... Some of them do not make any sense to me. I keep coming back to the SS No. 1's. They were both on auction at the same time, closing a day apart. Don't get me wrong, I am not complaining about the price I paid.
