Last Saturday morning early, I went to a cemetery not far from where I live to get a picture of a gravestone a relative in another state had asked me to take for her.

As I got there, I parked my truck in the shade of a big ole walnut tree. When I got out a red squirrel ran up the tree and barked at me the whole time I was there. I told him he'd better shut up or I'd fix him for supper. But, alas, it not being squirrel season yet, I shot him with my camera instead....

I've seen them do that before but never able to get a picutre of one. I also like to spot them when they flatten out on a limb like that but with their tail running right up the tree trunk for camo. They can sure be hard to spot when they're 45 feet up a beech tree and don't want to be seen.

LOVE those photos :) they can be a problem but sure had fun hunting them in the 1960's on the Elk and Tenn.rivers in Alabama nice color in both shots.
