NOVAK sights?

With all the broken front sights that are turning up. It made me wonder if the front sight is even a NOVAK sight.

The spec sheet on the SR1911 clearly says it has NOVAK 3 dot sights. Yet when you go to shopruger.com under parts the SR1911 front sight is only $6.25, it does not say it is a NOVAK. When you go under accessories there are two sights listed a plain black NOVAK for $24.95, and the fiber optic NOVAK for $41.95. Both clearly say NOVAK in the description.

My point is that if the original white dot front sight is not a NOVAK, then we were mislead by Ruger. Which would be sneaky at best, I think Ruger owes us all NOVAK front sights, and not just the $6.25 replacement.

On Novak's web sight a white dot front sight is $30, so how could Ruger sell it for $6?

Any thoughts? Ed

The SR1911 sights are neither manufactured nor marketed by Novak. They are made by Ruger under license from Novak. Both front and rear SR1911 sights are MIM. Novak does not make or sell any MIM sights.

Thanks Bigboreshooter, if that is the case, (and I have no reason to doubt it), Ruger is being sneaky at best in their advertising. Some people would claim out right fraud.

Using Novaks, name and not their sights regardless of license agreements is wrong. IMHO. ED
