Good day :D
First, this is my first time on this site, so hope I'm not violating any protocols! :?: I'm not a Ruger collector, but have a pre-warning, flat-bolt 77, 6MM, in pristine shape that I love dearly. So beautiful I cringe to take it hunting, and now have finally been able to buy my heart's desire, a No. 1!
It's embarrassing to admit, but I've had the No.1 for a couple of years, and yet to shoot it, for a reason I'll share later. But it wasn't until a month ago, after a conversation at a gunshow with a No. 1 collector, that I became aware my No. 1 had a low serial number (3xxx). I'd seen this number, of course, but thought the s/n was obscured by the scope. Thus the reason for this message.
Can anyone tell me how to contact Jay Jensen, with the Rugers Collectors Associaton? Ruger has advised me he might be able to give me a range of value for my rifle. I can get to his phone tape answering greeting, but it is full so disallows any message. :(
As an aside, did the early rifles have a history of loooooong  leades? :?:
I have yet to reach the rifling with the longest .224 bullets I have. Thus my reasons for not shooting the critter. Have a hunch this gun might have been sent back to the factory, and further wonder if barrel work might have been on the gorcery list.
Hope you and yours are well, and looking forward to a safe and wonderful New Year.

God Bless

You can get an answer right here. Several sage No. 1 collectors on this forum. Give us some details: caliber, configuration, barrel length, sights?, etc.

Of course a picture is worth a thousand words!

Stay with us here and don't waste further time with Jay Hansen, please(It's not "jensen")The suggestion that you note barrel length, caliber, forearm configuration, sights(yes or none), quaarter rib or target blocks, type or rings(vertical vs. horizontal where screwed together? are all corect. We can assist you. Others may chime in........ 8)
