Good day.

Do you guys think a Nikon Buckmaster will hold zero on a heavy recoiling 338 win mag? I have heard good things about the Nikons but do not know if the Buckmaster will hold up on a heavy recoiling rifle.

Cheers

Pieter

I can't answer your question directly, but I'll share my experience with the NIkon Buckmaster: I shoot my 300 win mag (Rem 700P) with a side focus Buckmaster scope without any problems. I don't particularly care for the BDC reticle on the scope, but it holds zero fine. I personally wouldn't hesitate to mount a Buckmaster on a .338 Win Mag, but I don't have personal experience with it.

I have the Buckmaster on my 338 Win and it works great. It has been shot for about 7 years now with about 200 rounds through it. My guess would be that it is mechanically the same as the Monarch.

I have one of the lower priced "Prostaff" models on my #1 458. No problems so far after at least 5 years. It is listed as a "shotgun" model and has the paralax set at 75 yards I think. No problems with eye relief either.
