New to 1911 and have a question about mark on slide

I was cleaning my new SR1911 when I foud a mark on the inside of the slide..hard to explain but I do have pics for any of you 1911 guys to look at...its at the rear of the slide

Just need to know if its something to contact Ruger about or if its nothing..

Have you shot it yet? If not, shoot it and if it functions I seriously doubt a "mark" on the inside of the slide is anything to worry about. ENJOY!!! 8)

Just shot it 100 rounds and ran perfect!

Its more then a mark, its like a if you dropped it on a sharp object and it left a mark..you can feel it if you run your fingernail over it, there is a valley to it.

Just want to know if its cosmetic or not..

Careful, that is a sign of a serious problem. You should send me your gun immediately and I'll send you $600 if I can't fix it. Of course, I'll have to keep the gun to work on it...

If it bothers you just sand it down, but it sounds like nothing if it shoots fine.
