New SR40c and LC9 to the range

I just picked up a SR40c and a Lc9 this weekend. I have posted about the SR40c but not the LC9. Took them to the range today(Sunday 10/23/11). Me and my buddy were there to put a Red Dot on his new S&W 22A. After we fired quite a few from off hand and rest to sight the scope in, and also fired a few from my S&W model 41 (1960). I finally fired my LC9 and My SR40c. They both fired flawlessly. Only had time to fire about 25 rounds out of each (due to putting a water pump in Wife's car). I liked the SR40c but not as well as my SR9c. I did not group well with it not use to the kick of the 40 as of yet and did have time to get use to it. The SR40c has a very, very good trigger pull, almost as good as my SR9c. The Lc9 has the worst trigger that I have ever felt. The trigger pull is so long that as you squeeze the trigger you're finger is trying to slide further onto the trigger towards you're knuckle. This gun will have to have one of the Galloway triggers when he gets them ready. Either that or I will have to spend a lot of range time getting use to it. I know it is a self defensive gun good to only approx. 21' feet or so, so the trigger pull is really not suppose to be that good. But I at least would like to have a half way good trigger in it. But I can hit close to what I aim at. I do like the little gun though and will spend more time working on trigger control. The LC9 should conceal very good. Now I have to get a holster for it.
Have to keep it in my head. BRASS and aim small, shoot small.

Congrats on your new Ruger family members!

I too own the 40c & LC9 so I will agree with some of your post

I found that is I take my LC9 to the range with any other handgun the triger feels bad.

But, if I only shoot the LC9 the triger is not so bad :shock:
I have gotten used to the long pull by it's self!

As for the re-coil of the 40..... It will take time.

The more you shoot the LC9 the better the trigger feels,its not as good as my Glocks and 1911's but I can hit what I'm aiming at at up to 15 yards. I set two or three targets up at different spacing and 5,7&10 yards and practice shooting two rds on each target. Then 7,10& 15 yards, same drill. I got this from my days of IPSC shooting.

Thanks for the replies Lateck and Butch, Lateck I have always read and respected you're post and replies, enjoy reading them. I will keep practicing on the trigger pull on the LC9 at least till Eric Galloway finishes the trigger in the works for the LCV9 then I will probably order his trigger.
