I recently acquired a 1917 made Colt 1911 and took it out to see if everything was in working order. When I shot the 1911, it made me realize how much I missed the 1911 design. I found myself wanting one that I could shoot often, tinker with and CC. I did not want to do these things to the old soldier.
Having contracted a case of the "have to have's", I went to the LGS and looked at what they had. A CMD followed me home. I took it to the range to run some ammo through it. It is very accurate and I love the pistol.
I did have 3 FTF in 100 rounds but it may have been the ammo or me. The first 50 was American Eagle which functioned perfectly. The next 50 was Winchester White box. I don't like that ammo much and just wanted to run it thought the gun for break in. I will get some other ammo and repeat the run.
Even with the FTFs, I'm very happy!
I hope everyone has a great Independence Day!!
