2008 Chevy Corvette, stock 6.2L engine with a few "enhancements" so it's suppossed to be around 550 horses now..
my wife has wanted one forever, so maybe she will let me drive it every now and then..

Hey Mike, NICE......I can tell you that you can pack a lot more than you think in the "TRUNK".....took me and my son about 15 minutes to figure out how to close the hatch at Harrisburg this spring.....I came home with more than I left with.....AGAIN.....see ya RR.

Funny, now that I'm an official old phart (50), Vettes are becoming more attractive to me than they have been in the past... :) And it has nothing to do with "compensation", picking up young chicks, or whatever. Just... Weird.

While I like some of the newer styles, my heart will always belong to the 67-72 era Stingray. Don't know the exact year, but there's one in there with the pronounced flare on the fenders as well as a little flip of a spoiler on the rear.

Actually... Yeah. You see one of the new ones off in the distance and it's almost hard to tell if it's a Vette or a Ferrari. It's not the same thing as the old Stingrays, but is special in its own way. Of course, the new ones go for $50-70K which is considerably more than the old ones went for, even counting for inflation.

Of course, I would probably just as soon own a horse (and the land to keep it on) today than a car I couldn't "use" anywhere. I've had a 3.5 mile commute for so long I don't remember what a highway looks like. :D

Sam, the Vettes you seem to like best are the '68 to '73. I had a '78 Silver Anniversary for 15 years. Drove it 6k miles :roll:

Jim's right, the best Vettes ever made are right now. As much as I like the old classic Vettes, they're still just fancy, good looking Chevys with plastic bodies.
