Yup. It's a Smiffy... First 629 I have ever owned... and currently my only Smith.

I took this gun in trade, it came with some decent custom grips and the original ones. It shows very little use and the cylender lock-up is rock solid tight.

I'm still considering a red dot mount for my SBH Hunter, but I did install the included one on this gun. It has a nice profile.

I had a similar PC model 629, with a ball detent on the yoke to assist lock up.

I think you already know that your SBH Hunter will be more accurate, and by a goodly amount.

Lol. Nice! :-) on the plus side, it balances really well though.

So would you consider it a full lug, a half lug, a tapered lug? Maybe?

I have seen a couple of those that were from the S&W Performance Center. Is your 629 from the Smith Performance Center?

I think it looks good. Is the barrel taper to balance it out? I know nothing of the newer profiles of late and what their primary benefits are.

I think a 6" GP-100 would look good with a tapered underlug as well. :D

It is a performance center gun. Very low mileage. Balances great. I am kinda liking the tapered lug...
