The action job and free spin pawl were done before I bought the revolver. The grip frame and trigger are original to that 1982 model of the gun according to the previous owner.

I have no knowledge about the history of the gun before I acquired it. Any additional information that one has regarding the possible alteration to the gun would be appreciated. Thanks.

The previous owner had told me that the gun is in its original configuration, which I tend to believe because I have seen another one like it.

I could be wrong about the year of manufacture. I referenced Ruger's serial number lookup for the number range.

Being the curious fellow that I am, I pulled out two other Bisleys from about the same time period. Notice that the roll marks on the 7 1/2" Bisleys are
in a different position than the one in the 4 5/8" one. While not conclusive, it looks to me like the original length is 4 5/8" and not cut down from a 7 1/2" one.

PLEASE NOTE: I am NOT trying to sell this gun as a collectors' item.

According to the RENE Guide,, that gun was made in 1982.

And a factory offerings of the blued NM .41 mag Bisley's were in 7-1/2" & 5-1/2" only Models RB-41 (7-1/2"") and RB-415 (5-1/2").
With the barrel roll marking as it is,, it's possible to be a 5-1/2" cut down.
There were models RB-41, RB-41W, KRBN-415W in the Bisley configuration.
The "W" stands for "With rollmarked cylinder."
The KRBN is a stainless model.

OR,,,, it's a 4-5/8" Blackhawk that's had the Bisley g/f added. With the fluted cylinder,, And since the grips aren't factory,, that's a possible scenario. NOT an uncommon thing to swap a grip frame around. With the action job,, and the free spin pawl,, I'd say this is a much more possible scenario than a cut down.

A factory letter would verify the actual configuration.

Blued Bisleys (not counting the new flattops) were ONLY offered in 7.5". Not 5.5" nor 4 5/8".

The 5.5" length Bisley was only factory offered in stainless.

This is a regular 41 Blackhawk with the Bisley frame, trigger, and hammer added at some point.

Great configuration, but never a factory offering.
