Looks like 'money pit' to me.
I hope you enjoy that Willys as much as I do mine.
I’ve been told Stalantis (spelling) the parent company of Jeep is not doing very well. The also make RAM trucks and apparently they closed a factory for Ram for a month.

This is my 2012. V-6, Manual....Love it, but I've been searching for it's replacement for a few months now...Prices for used or new are absolutely absurd, but the Wrangler bug has bitten me deep. I'll keep looking until I find what I want. And yes, unless Stalantis figures some things out the hole they've dug for themselves will only get deeper.
I like Jeeps.....but ever since they did away with the CJ's there's no room in them.....especially leg room for someone closer to 6'5 than 6'4.....

Never had one newer than 1979. The old ones are really neat. Working on them can be a puzzle cross referencing parts to other manufacturers.

You could probably fix anything on that in your driveway with a screwdriver and pliers LOL
RAM discontinued the hemi in the 1500 series pickups for a year or two and sales suffered ….. it’s coming back for the 26 model year. I didnt verify that on the internet just repeating what a couple guys who work at dealerships told me.
Heck, you can build just about any model Jeep you want, from the frame up, with parts bought online. Not too many other, if any, vehicles you can do that with.
You can built a Tri-Five Chevy that way!

I taught myself to drive a stick in a Jeep. All I remember is that it was insanely noisy at highway speeds. Cured me of any romantic notion of getting a Jeep.
I've seen kit cars of various vehicles, but you usually just put the fiberglass body on the frame and build the rest from Chevy parts.

Neat as can be congratulations. When I was a kid, you could buy "surplus" jeeps. They advertised that they came pre- assembly. Packed in barrels with copious amounts of grease. Sheet metal came separately of course. scam, for real whatever, mom laid down the law NO you will nor do that in my carport!!!. Mom hated car repair in the car port, especially if it lasted more than a day.

Not really a money pit. The big money was spent on the Willys before I bought it. Not nearly as much of a money pit as the nice shiney newer Jeeps. The old CJ2A will appreciate in value.

I was in the USAF in 1965ish @ Andrews SFB, Maryland. There was a used vehicle company that had WW2? military jeeps that had been salvaged from 'air drop' tests. I almost bought one until I found it was wired for 24 volts and the batterys were long and thin. Talk about a money sink tht would have been.
Well shoot. I better post a picture of mine. It's a manual, and as fun as they are to drive, it's rather annoying in town. Not bad, just annoying. So we went to the Ford dealership to see about trading it in for a Bronco. They are bigger, and quieter. I test drove a Bronco, and wow, are they nice. I'd never even sat in one before.
But they didn't want to give us very much on a trade for our Jeep, so we still have it. They are very fun. and in a couple years, we will probably trade it in for a four door automatic model. This is our third Jeep. They are extremely easy to drive around town, parking lots etc, the turning radius is so small.
I do wish this had aluminum wheels. These are steel wheels and just too much black. But other than that, we love it. I even get in the back sometimes when my wife is driving. Not the easiest thing to do.

I've posted my Scrambler many times. Sadly it currently sits waiting for parts. Hopefully they arrive in a day or two. But that broken leaf spring pushed me to replace the springs, shocks and other smaller bits. I figure three days after I get my parts assembled it should be back up and running. Just in time for summer.

My dad had one that he tinkered with. He drove one in WWII and wanted one in his later years to mess around with. Yeah..... it can be a money pit.
Only Jeep I've ever had was this Gladiator that I bought in 2021 as a retirement present to myself. I enjoy it.
A few coat hangers might help too.
