Okay, I have owed you all a picture for a while.

Here is my new Blackhawk. It is a Lipsey’s 45 convertible.

She shoots my 45 acp target loads great! After making up some 45 Colt loads I feel I may have missed the boat with these single action pistols. The felt recoil seems very mild.

Fake ivory=white plastic. I would prefer wood.

For now they are okay.

yeah... get one of our forum member grip makers to whip you up a pair in American Holly! I think the stainless and ivory looking grips make a great color combo. Holly would look classy too

Cograts and nice! I have the blued and the stainless. Both shoot very well.... And yes you HAVE been missing out on shooting .45 Colt :D . Not sure what size bullet you are using, but 250-255g is the 'proper size'. Think lead too either RNFP or SWC.... Then get them moving at least 850-900fps for proper velocity and you are good to go! For other purposes there is the 'higher' grain bullets in the 270-300 range which I have never used. I never have figured out what those pesky 'light' 180g-200g bullets are used for ;) .

The 45 ACP loads have been cast. Lee 230 grain tumble lubed with Bullseye. This revolver shoots this load into a 2" group at 25 yards.

For 45LC I have been using 250 grain Hornady HP with Unique.

I invested in the Handloader Magazine with the article that lists safe loads in this revolver. It lists safe loads with 300 grain cast at 1000+fps. My plan, eventually, is to get a 300 grain mold and work up some loads.

Recoil on the 250 grain loads seems very mild compared to omparable loads in my 44mag Redhawk. It might be that I shoot the single action better?

This gun shoots great.
