Well it could be worse.

That uniform dates back to WW II, and honors The Greatest Generation. I pray we get men of equal caliber to fill those uniforms.

The new Army greens looks brown to me. Maybe I am color blind.

Would you buy "brownish olive green" ? But yeah, I'd call it brown.

As a side note, anybody know whatever became of Khakis?

Yes, they always think changing the uniforms, going to a more "retro" look will boost morale, improve esprit. Make up for bad leadership, PCness, etc.
Bring back the Ike jacket. You have to be pretty trim in the waist to look good in that.
Khakis were phased out in 1984. When I enlisted in 1967, the old long sleeve khaki shirt worn with patches and a tie was gone. There used to be a summer version of Class As, same cut but in tan.

Khakis were phased out back in the early 80s. Personally, I see zero appeal in the 'pinks-n-greens' uniform. Just something that some retired general thinks looks good, and that the soldier will have to buy if he or she wants it.

It seems like the Army keeps going backwards with their dress uniform.

I loved Rook's photo.

This topic reminds me of the movie "Top Gun". The Naval Aviator's leather jackets looked so great that the USAF spent a bunch of taxpayer dollars to outfit their pilots in leather.

I always liked it, much better IMO than what I had in the early 70s.

Changing uniforms aggravates my Son in Law. He says it only happens immediately after he has to replace his duty uniforms. Then he ends up with a bunch of stuff he can no longer wear on duty. I wouldn't mind at all if he and I were closer to the same size.

Still look better than the bus drivers uniform the Air Force has. Although the c, err I mean overseas cap was one of the better covers they’ve come up with
I liked the "overseas" cap maybe even less than the beret. I looked like some kind of martian with it.

For some maybe. But it made doing something with your cover much easier than the billed had. Just tock it in your belt or epaulet.

Strictly speaking, the "pinks and greens" with the jacket (OK, blouse) with self belt was the officers uniform, the EM uniforms were plainer, somewhat coarser material. The Army Green Uniform reduced the distinctions between the ranks, the difference between the officers and EM uniform was the black piping for officers/warrant officers. Though it did introduce the gold chin strap and "scrambled eggs" for field grade and general officers.

It's a simple, dignified look, without tacky stripes, braid, or piping. I think Congress should mandate that the Army keep this design for at least 20-30 years. The search for the perfect camo has been more expensive.
