whats up with these grips??

I don't think it's well worn, just rusted but I agree it's too high by at least a hundred bucks. An early case colored New Vaquero that needs to go back to Ruger for a full blue job. Some folks install Bakelite grips to somewhat mimic John Wayne's Colt, which I believe had yellow Catalin grips.

Or Turnbull for some real case colors.

And some collect different models or same model different cartriges with the same serial numbers - that also may be low, etc.

In my case I've only had consecutive, low to very low and one high that was almost the last one made. But the only ones I've looked for intentionally is the very low.

Solid Serial Number 77777777 or 11111111
Ladder Serial Number 12345678 or 87654321
Repeater Serial Number 12341234 or 21342134
Radar/Palidrone Serial Numbers 12344321 or 98766789
Consecutive Serial Numbers 55551789, 55551790, 55551791
Low serial Numbers 00000021 or 00000134
High Serial Number 99999912

Those are Corian and Collins doesn't do Bakelite.

I'll withhold comments about someone who would buy a rusted Ruger because the serial number interested them and for no other reason. That's just weird.

Calling someone weird because they would buy a rusted Ruger because of the serial number, is one great way to withhold a comment!!! Boy I'm glad you didn't comment. I would hate to see what you would have to say if you did.

I know you think your opionion is the only one that counts but that only your opinion not everyone else. I guess all of the collectors that collect guns based on what the serial number is should have checked with you. Because I know they don't want to go through life being weird!!!!!

I actually have two Palindrome serial guns. Just by chance. It's odd since I don't own that many guns. Does owning two make me cool? Well, it's not for me to say...but, yes. Yes it does.

Yes it does, very cool!!! :P :P :P

I bought consecutive numbered SR1911's for my sons. I have a s&w model 60 that has my father's birthday for a serial number. The weird thing is that I didn't notice for 10 years. Ed

Street, you really need to get over yourself and stop stalking me. You don't have to interject with your opinion of ME every time I post something about GUNS that you don't agree with. I didn't say anyONE was weird. I said paying full price for a rusted gun JUST because of the serial number is weird. I also said this TWO MONTHS AGO. This is not an indictment against all collectors so stop trying so hard to be offended.

Looks like an OM Vaquero with case colored frame.
Not sure if it has rust or not, but seller has good feedback and he did not mention it. You should PM him and ask about it before bidding.
Aftertmarket grips look like faux aged ivory.

The early New Vaqueros were case colored like their large frame brethren, this is an example. The grips are yellow Bakelite, not aged or "yellowed" but a yellow material. It's very obvious from the pics that the frame and ejector housing are rusted and the auction ended six weeks ago.
