need some help-mini 14 target

Hi all,
Wife bought me a new stainless mini 14 target 2 months ago. Couple problems, first, I have parkinsons, and as you all know the target version weighs real close to 10 pounds,thats heavy for me. Second problem, what if anything can I do to lighten it up. Its a beautiful piece and extremely accurate well past 200 yards.I use this gun for varmint hunting and dont want to go back to a bolt action cuz our coyotes are running in packs again and I need a quick follow up shot. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Switching the stock out to a synthetic version will lighten it up a bit, but thats about all you can do, as there is a lot of weight in the barrel and the harmonic dampner.

What about carrying one of those shooting sticks... just a walking stick until you need it to rest the barrel of the rifle on.
