Need recs for p345 + light holster for range & general u

Hello all, this is my first post.

I got a new KP 345 recently and some other range accessories. I'm missing a holster. Don't need fancy or expensive. Perhaps a hard case? My light has a side to side sw. Not an end cap/tail light type.... so if the fit is really snug, the sw could be engaged and the light will come on unoticed and it gets really hot very quickly.

Taking it on & off the rail is to tuff to be doing routinely. yeah... I'll be seeking another light soon. I had a few break in attempts and was in a rush for a light.

Black works for me, and under $50 or so would be nice. Strap or no strap, thumb drive (whatever that is) or not is OK too... concealed carry options aren't necessary. Able to add a clip would be super.

Day or night, the light is required due to me being hard of seeing.

Thanks for any previous experiences and ideas.

Fobus has a tactical holster that can be used with the Ruger 345 with light attached. You can usually find them on Ebay for a bit lower price.

Here is another try if you like it. I've found that XD holsters can be a pretty good fit for the 345. My local GS has a book of stuff marked clearance and I know there are always some holsters there. I took my 345 with me to the range for a students CCH qualification and I found one I liked in the box, gave it a try and it's a perfect fit as you can see. It has the little rail on the front and you can attach your light there..Just a thought! Whoops! Almost forgot, he just gave me the holster. Always good to be on good terms with your gun guy.

Very cool!! Something such as that ought to do fine.

My light comes within a 1/4 or 3/8 of my forward portion of the trigger guard at it's rear end. It is also notched vertically too about half an inch wide and nearly that deep.

AS this particular light STAYS onboard like it's welded on, it'll have to slip thru in & out of the holster...

I'm not seeing the pic well enough to determine if both can be inserted and withdrawn.... unless the holster opens up on one side instead of theu the top as normal ones are configured.

Either way the input is most appreciated. I'd heard from another source or two that the SA XD was a good idea for holstering searches... but not everytime.

Looks like the Fobus mght be your best bet. When you hit the link above and you go to the Fobus page you can see "Draw Gun" at the bottom of the picture. THe gun goes in from the back of the holster. What you don't see is a stud at the bottom of the holster that you place the muzzle down on to stop any movement. Nice thing about it is just about any light imaginable can be used.

Due to the somewhat restricted egress I'd use this holster just for walking about my property and while at the range. I’d not even consider this for concealed carry purposes.

it works fine for my purposes. Cosmetically, esthetically and so forth the materials could be better put together, leather could have been used in more areas.

iTact makes some too, quite simialr to the Fobus model I bought. All plastic though. Their's uses a single index finger release button to withdraw the pistol from the holster. Around $30 I think.

I found this holster for the SR 9 & P345 has a little slop in the fit if a P345 is inserted. Not a lot, just some. I found a bit of black Velcro lying about that wasn't being used so I inserted some on the slide section of the holster. This all but eliminates any play a P345 will have when placed into the Fobus GLT holster.

I'd also note the eBay version doesn't come with the locking rotating part of the holster which enables it to be set to a greater tilt.

AS the draw is a slightly upwards and backwards pull from the holster going with the tilt option seems purely a personal call. I merely go with a reverse ddraw that accomodates the natural egress of a weapon from it's Fobus confines very handily and quite smoothly too. This could work well with a shoulder holster arrangement... though I'm not optimistic as to how it might or might not print... albeit the draw should be most intuitve and quick with little practice.

All in all... If the ITact doesn't fit the Fobus seems a worthy container at the mid $40 tag.
