i ran accross a ruger model 77 mk11 in 223
it has the target grey stainless finish
and a grey laminated varmint style stock that is thick in the grip area and flat accross the bottom of the forearm
it has what i believe to be a 22-24 inch heavy barrel
the guy said it came with a bi-pod and rings from the factory??
anyone know anything abt this as i have never owned a ruger bolt gun in my life i kinda like the looks of this
btw what would be a good price for this??
he is asking 475 otd for it
thanks

oh and it has the safety on the side of the bolt not on the tang if that helps any

Thats the V/T (Varmint/Target) model. Seems like a good price to me. I have a few of these rifles, one in .22 LR and one in 6.5 Creedmoor. They didn't come with a Bi Pod from the factory, but they did come with scope rings, as most ruger rifles do.

Some guys prefer the tang safety, others the 'wing' safety. I like them both, but the 'wing' safety has got some distinct advantages, although I prefer the floorplate release on the tang safety guns. I'm turning into a No. 1 guy, so I don't really have to deal with it much.

Actually I think it's The LE variant, The standard Varmints have the laminated stock but in brown. The make the 223 and 308 as a LE Sniper rifle complete with the black laminate stock and the supplied Harris bi-pod with two foreward swivel studs, one for the sling and one for the bipod.

Pretty nifty rifle at a REALLY good price. Theyare not all that common and seldom seen.

Depends on when it was made. Ruger made the switch in regular production to a gray laminate (from Brown) on their Mark II VT's about a year ago.

it does have a bi-pod on it with the extra swivel stud
and the bi-pod has the ruger logo on it

Chad: Thanks. I'm pretty sure that with the double sling studs and the Harris bi-pod with the logo it's the LE variant.

I don't know about the 223 but we have a couple in 22PPC and 6mm PPC and they are shoters.

I paid $500 for my 22PPC and $650 for the 6mm PPC, used

I would think either of the LE models, 223 or 308 should be worth at least that and a bit more. The Harris bi-pod is $85 or so retial and that isn't with the Ruger logo.

If you check the web sites, GB and look at the standard varmint laminate models and added $100 you'd probably be real close for a used rifle. Of course I'm talking of something you want to shoot and keep. That's probably VALUE. If you are planning it and turning it at a profit you'll need to be in it quite a bit lower.

Nices rifles.
