What happens when you have a '68 Dodge Coronet shell, a complete, running-but-wrecked late-model SRT8 Charger, and way too much time on your hands.

It's amazing how seamlessly the builder managed to integrate the classic Coronet body with the modern Charger frame, floorpan, 6.1 Hemi drivetrain and interior.

Pretty cool, but he needs to find a proper '68 front end for it. The '69 Coronet was one of those years where they made (appearance) changes just to make changes and they didn't do the car any favors in the process. The original '68 front end was better looking. (Another good example of this was the back end of the '67 GTO--the '66 was perfect as it was.)

i would take any coronet front end over any thing made today, even even the wacky 1970 model.

True on both counts. Everything today looks the same. All the cars have that stupid "smile" grille. How I miss the days when you could tell the make, model, and year of a car by a mere glance at the front or rear end.

You guys are killin' me ! My first car was a '66 Coronet 440. Had a 383 w/tow package. That got me the better rear end,4-barrel,bigger battery/alt., and more cooling. If memory working... It was the ugliest split pea baby puke green.
