Yosemite Sam
Hunter
Picked this up a couple of weeks ago, as part of the adventures I wrote about previously. It's a 1989 model Colt Gold Cup National Match.
Requisite "gun and knife" shots:
Gold Cup & K-BAR
Gold Cup & Custom Wharncliffe
I realize not everyone is going to be crazy about the grips. It came with a Pachmayr rubber grip on it, and I found a little surface rust under it, so wanted to put some wood on there to breathe, at least for a while. I had these kicking around and now they're starting to grow on me...
My whole little 1911 family:
And my favorite shot of the day, despite the tight crop at the top:
Dan Wesson Classic Commander Bobtail and the BladeForum.com 2009 commemorative knife.
I guess I'm hooked. Even guns that are much lighter don't "carry" as well for me as a 1911. They fit my hand. The trigger acts the same way every time. They're sleek and elegant. Who could ask for more?
Now I just hope Ruger doesn't release one, or I'll have something else to buy...
