My new shooter

A NIB .357 MAx ,, 7.5 inch on a vendors table at the show on Sat., and the price was right so I have a new toy. I saw another a few tables away with 3 box of Rem ammo but it was used. Also a Number 1 S in cal. 38-55, 98 %, no box, black pad, for $1200.00 which sold pretty fast. Several good Rugers walked in that were for sale. a Single- Six type 3 flat gate, a set of .357 Bisley Blackhawks, that has been tuned for Cowboy with a nice holster rig, a Bisley Vaquero in 44 Mag. a short barrel.357 flattop shooter. Also on vendors table were a Hawleye. 256, a few .44 and .357 flattops and several Single -six.

Jimbo, Sure I am going to shoot it. , Just as soon as I can get to the range. Same loads I use in my 10 inch MAX, 180 grain cast and 4227.

I saw one for the first time in a retail store in Tampa around 1984-85 I guess.. the serial number was 1xx but no money to be spared at the time.. coulda-woulda-shoulda, I suppose

I am one who would be skittish about shooting it... .357 Magnum is my limit on more powerful calibers. :shock:

I was at MMC sights in Deming, NM one day picking up a S&W .44 that their gunsmith had been working on for me. He showed me and let me handle the Maxi that had been sent to Skeeter by Ruger for testing. Skeeter lived south of there and would pick up guns shipped to him for testing at MMC.
