Well I went to look at a USFA rodeo and a Lipsey SS 44spl and ended up with this a new model SBH (S/A Addiction) Now I need a stainless grip frame

Why a stainless grip frame? Those blued steel XR30-RED's are very classy, especially with your nice grips.

+1. I think that gun looks fine. The base pin adds a really nice detail to the grips. If it's a shooter, it's a winner.

That's my favorite barrel length for the 44 mag SB, whether its blue or stainless.

Well to make it mine I thougt the Stainless steel grip frame would set it off
Kinda like two tone? I have always wanted a 4-5/8s SBH right place and right time with some nice adjustments picked it up just the way it is action is as slick as Blood hound slobber, shoots just fine!!! Now I need a Holster, (A Carved 3 Persons?)

Gotcha, welcome to the forum. That is a nice looking revolver. Not sure I'd change a thing. Even though I've had a SBH in 5 1/2" (acutally a cut down 7 1/2") I have always wanted that barrel length as well. So I got one not too long ago. Just looks more like the ones on the Westerns I watched in the 60's.

looks nice, I have a 5.5" barrel with the rosewood grips and I've been looking for pictures of SBH's with those grips. May have me convinced to buy some. I like the unfluted cylinder too.

tek4260,
That is a nice looking 45 8) Well I think I will leave it alone, I put a few more rounds through it and it is real sweet with 44spl and some old rem 44mag mid range 180 grain loads. I still have not put any full house loads through it yet

Almost all of my Rugers have had either a Dragoon or Hunter grip frame installed....the XR3-RED just doesn't work with my hands! Since you want stainless, I'd suggest a Hunter grip frame.

Custom grips are another option. I like Eagle Grips Gunfighter model, especially in water buffalo horn. Caryc and Private Schultz makes some nice ones, as does Klamath River Wood Works and numerous others. Stag-grips.com in Buffalo WY makes elk stag...got 3 pair on Bisleys and 2 pair of Dragoons.

You're 100% right about the custom touches. You made it YOURS and a unique creation.

I never had a SA. I plan on making one my next gun purchase. 4 5/8 blued in 44 mag. is the plan.
Your's is tremendous.
