My youngest daughter is moving past the 10/22. She tried a few with the Ruger No. 3 in .22 Hornet today. Good times.

That's GREAT! There's nothing better than to see a parent (or any adult for that matter) encouraging a young person to enjoy our sport!

looks like you are giving her instruction, I think she already knows how to shoot!

That's my buddy in the background, and although the photo makes it look like he's giving instructions, the camera just happened to catch him in that pose. I was behind the camera.

There were several of us shooting our Mosin Nagants yesterday (we have an informal competition once a month), and I took the No. 3 in 22 Hornet along because it looked like it wanted to get out of the safe for a bit. My daughter liked that rifle a lot, but it seems like her favorite is an old Browning A-bolt in .22 LR with a 4x14 Mueller scope on it. I shot the Hornet, too...love that rifle. The case life on the Hornet sure is short, though...two or three reloads and the case mouths start cracking.

I also took my Garand out yesterday. It's a hoot. I'm needing a new gas cylinder for it because it's short stroking and the no go gage, well, goes. My daughter managed to catch a photo of me with an ejected round in mid air...with her iPhone, no less!

That pic makes it look like you have one huge round resting in that rifle rest! It almost looks photo-shopped in there!
