With retirement (hopefully) on its way, I am still looking into things to do post LEO for both extra money and to keep my wife and I from killing one another during the winter. So while I wait for some more wood to come in for some projects I picked up this $20 helmet to practice on. It had the cheesy glossy generic finish which I roughed up, then painted it flat black. I had some masks that I bought to try out when I get my airbrush up and running so I used them and then I got some $1 fabric from Walmart to try my hand at lacing. Since I don't have the colors for my airbrush I did it all with rattle can paints and then gave it a couple of coats of semi gloss to finish it off. Not exactly perfect but hey its a start and maybe when I get good with the airbrush (painting is no problem still learning about my mix ratios) I'll try another one. Now if I only rode a motorcycle.
