Any of y'all remember when men used to call store bought cigarettes "ready rolls?"

As in, "Could I have one of your ready rolls?"

We called them store bought or ready rolls, we never took a smoke break working in the woods with my Dad we just stopped to roll one.

Yes sir, I do. My friend next door's dad taught me to roll my own when I was in high school. Wish I'd never have learned. It took me 35 years to kick it. It did provide for some amusing times though. Almost killed some poor hippy down in Phoenix, when he mistook (is that even a word?)what were smoking for weed, and begged a hit. Quite look of surprise on his face after that big toke.

I remember when Prince Albert pipe tobacco came in a cute little tin can.
We used to call the local grocery stores and ask them if they had Prince Albert in a can.
When they said yes we would yell: "Well let him out!"
We considered that Living Dangerously.

Both Prince Albert and Half and Half were for pipe or cigarettes, as was Sir Walter Raliegh. Bull Durham, Tip Top, and Bugler were, as I remember, for cigarettes. Bull Durham came in a white cloth bag with yellow drawstring closure, with the little tab on the drawstring. Men kept these in the bib pocket of their overalls, or in a vest pocket, with the string and tab dangling.

My mother kept a bag of Bull Durham in some of the drawers of our chest of drawers to keep out moths. This was effective and did not have that naptha oder of moth balls.

Yep, done that. And Prince Albert served for my targets many times, using that white oval. Then my uncle made me turn the cans sideways to present a more difficult target.
