This is still a work in progress. My wife thinks that I am a spoiled brat. The vault door is from an old bank from around 1900. Vault is core filled block with lots of rebar. Ceiling is cast concrete 8 inches thick. Should keep the punks away from my toys. Finally got the door done. Still need to make some oak molding for around the door

You and me both.

Nice set up! I'd sure keep a de-humidifier going all the time in there beings that you're in Minn. Lot a wiping down with metal preservatives, but that's called a "labor of love" :D

Hey you got yours almost done....you can come over and give me a few pointers    or even a little muscle    looks good to me.....RR.

Where does a guy find a bank door like that?

I've seen a few of the guys from the local gun club walk in vaults where they had fabricated doors. The set-up you have is awsome and decorative! If I could find a bank door like that you just increased my project list (keep the dehumidifier going!).

That is sweet!! If I ever get to build a house I am going to design it around a room very similar to yours!

A local bank was demolished and the contractor made off with the walk-in vault and door for a song. Lucky guy. I too think an authentic door with the original lettering would be the bomb!

my man cave consists of.... ok well i dont have one yet, that is SWEET!!!

Guess I'll have to start watching the "going out of business" or local auctions. I have a extra wide steel safe that if the stair case holds going down I doubt it will going back up. I really like the original looks of that door!

Nice setup, Neil! BTW, it may pay to contact the businesses in your area that do demolition of buildings. Ask if they have or project the destruction of sites/bldgs which may have safes in their sites.......Just an idea. 8)

RR your room loooks like the rifle rack at my local GS, I tip my hat to you sir, well done, well done indeed!
