I am looking for a book the covers all the makes and model changes on the Mini 14 or Mini 30.
So far the few books that I have purchased cover basic operation, a brief history, and how to add accessories.
Does anyone know of anything a little more in depth?

Thanks

I'm not sure if such a book exists. Yet.

I've got one book on the Mini-14 and I find it .....lacking. The writing is not great, and there are some small errors in the text that make me distrust the book as a whole.

The Mini-14 didn't get a lot of different models until recently, as far as I know.

Used to be, there was the 180- series, then the 181- and later guns. The stainless and blued versions. The GB and GB-F models. The Ranch Rifle. And then the Mini-30 and Mini-6.8.

But look on Rugers website now and you'll see many many different variations. Some of them distributor exclusives.

So I guess this is a long-winded bump. Good luck!

:D

Anybody know how many Mini 14s Ruger has produced? I know they don't release this kind of information, but what is the group's collective estimate of total Mini 14 production?

I'm on my fourth, so that's at least four. I know two guys that each have one, so that's six...

I was told yrs ago, that a good percentage of them was sold Overseas to Para Military groups, do not know if that was true or not, but it could be, they would work quite well in the bush.

I've had three, so that's nine.

What about that semi secret group... some three letter name that starts with R?

I've got two.... so now we are to 11.

I think the A Team had one or two at the most... same ones and had to be because they always shot the same... never hit what they were aiming at.

FXR, I apologize for the thread drift. I wouldn't mind a comprehensive Mini 14 book either. There's a boatload of books for the 10/22, but not much on the Mini. It's a good thing we have the forum.
