I removed the barrel action from my stock today for cleaning. As I did, the gas pipe fell out of the gas block. I am not a gunsmith but you have guessed that. I am sure it use to be attached in the gas block. How did this happen and how do I attach it back into the block. I have been to so many websites that my eyes are dizzy and I still can't find an answer. Please, help.

Go to customer service on the Ruger website and you can download the manuals for guns there.

It may depend which model/serial Mini you have, but likley same/similar part.

You will need to separate the 2 halves of the gas block top & bottom (MS03500/KMS03500) on a current ranch rifle) by removing the 4 Allen head screws. Inside should be a KMS02500 (Gas Port Bushing), this holds the MS03600/KMS03600 gas pipe in place in the gas block assembly. If yours is a used Mini, previous owner may have removed KMS02500 (Gas Port Bushing), if it is a new one, looks like factory forgot to install, and I'd call customer service at Ruger (in any case) to see if you can get a free one mailed to you!

When you say the "gas pipe" you mean that tiny about 1/4" long metal tube that sits on the bottom of the barrel and sits vertically on the center of the bottom half of the GB? The "gas port bushing"?

If so just replace it in the the GB bottom half and slide the GB bottom half into position on the barrel - it will mate into the gas hole on the underside of the barrel.

A good video on the switch.

no, dfletcher. I meant the gas pipe which is the piece the comes out from the gasblock and inserts into the recoil lever. Its called a gas pipe in the parts listings.
I separated the two halves of the gas block and no gas bushing. The rifle has been getting worse and worse with ejection problems and jams. I am no wondering if the gas bushing broke or corroded and disintegrated. IDK but its not there and I ordered a new one from Gunparts. Thank you for the reply.

Guess is previous owner removed for some reason, may have had to do with the ammo they were using. The ID of the bushing controls gas flow and is critical to operation.

There are companies who sell different IG bushings to "control" the ejection power of the mini.

You should be good once installed. :-)

That certainly is odd. IIRC the gas bushing is the only thing holding in the gas pipe. It's a fairly stout little piece too. Getting a factory replacement should correct the problem. Accuracy Systems sells gas bushings with various hole sizes, about $18.00 for a package of 4 I think. I bought one and use the "next to smallest" port hole. The folks to my right on the range have expressed their deep appreciation for having done so ....
