Hi guys,
I need some help here... On another forum I read about the MMRT. I still don't quite know what this is. It sounds like a piece of inner tube stuck under the No 1 forend at the end. It sounds like it might work for a couple of guns that I have that should shoot better than they do. Any info on it would be a great help.
Thanks
Chris

While it doesn't work on every #1 it works on enough that Joe Miller the "inventor" is consistently winning 2 or 3 of the caliber group out of 4 in our annual Postal Shoot on the #1 Site.

It's actually truck inner tube, being a few thousandths thicker. Seems to work with about the front inch to inch and a half covered. Just cut the inner tube with a pair of scissors and you can radius the front so it fits in the forearm barrel channel with no excess exposed, then tighten you forearm to where it likes to shoot.

Joe says he found the idea on an older factory Remington/Winchester Target 22 LR.

Ask on the #1 Site and it's likely somebody can send you a piece of tubing as we've been passing pieces of the same one around for several years.

Barrel harmonics is one of the key accuracy issues with #1s and the un patented MMRT seems to exert just enough tip pressure to make it consistent from shot to shot. (Ruger has always maintained that #1s shoot best with a bit of tip pressure and factory rifles come that way) I haven't bothered with "HUNTING" #1 that shoot MOA or so but the "TARGET" #1s, 22PPC, 22BR, 222 and others all have them and for #1s shoot surprisingly well. All three of the above rifles will now shoot into the .4s if I do my part and on occasion into the .3s.

Have fun

Ross
