Friend caught this on an iPhone of all things.
158 grain bullet. Pretty hot load. Not sure what the load is. Got a bunch of Magnums from a lady whose dad was a handloader and i'm too lazy to pull em. They seem safe for a Ruger. Just hotter than a 38 spl like my guns usually get. :O

Naw i pulled about 10 or 15 and all measured within .1 grains of each other. I fired a cylinder and had no pressure signs so i went with it.

Next one may do me in, but they've been fine so far.

Looks like some of the flash I get with 2400. It doesn't take a lot of that to get a nice flame out the end of the barrel!

I saw a 6.5" .357 blackhawk with 7 rounds stuck in the barrel once.. (which means the guy reloaded the cylinder of course)....
The only reason he knew something was wrong was when the revolver wouldn't cock because the last round was stuck in between the cylinder and barrel...
While I have seen a few blown up Rugers, I always used mine for my load development back when I was a reloader..
They is tough...... :)

I got a deal like that once. Someone gave me about 200rds of 357mag ammo. I took out the S&W model 27 and spent a day on the range doing the same thing. I had fun most were stout loads. good photo of that nice fireball.

Personally, I'll not load mine "hot" simply because it's nearly sixty years old and deserves a little "consideration" for its age. I have later three-screws that could be used with "barn burners" should I so desire.

And I'll also just say that I NEVER use somebody else's reloads . . . ever . . . nor do I let them shoot mine.

I dont usually but these have proven ok. I got probably close to 1000 rounds of 38/357 from them. The 38's are powder puff wadcutters and the 357's, depending on the bullet are mild to not so mild. All have proven accurate and so far, safe.
