But does any one else get "bitten" by the slide of their SR9 or SR9c when drawing and shooting (IDPA)? Every month when I go, the slide ends up taking the bark off a little bit. Just wondering.

Change your username and it will stop. :D

I smoothed the serrations and sharp edges on slide on mine, no blood yet.

Neither my former SR9 or current SR9C have ever slide-bitten me but I have medium size and rather thin hands. Shooters with large, fleshy hands tend to have slide bite problems with a lot of different pistols, hence all of the extended beavertails and Commander-style hammers on most current 1911s.

Either my 9c or elsie pea bit me the last time out but was just barely. Usually my P944 will bit me after shooting it for a while. After a lot of rounds I start to get lazy about hand placement on the grip.

a lot of rounds through my SR9 have never been bitten. I used to get nipped every once in a while when I was firing a lot of combat matches with the rack grade 1911's. Do you have an extra large set of mits?

Good luck,
GF

My SR9 shredded my thumb and index finger the first time I took it out of the box and racked it. My slide missed the buffing before the finish was applied. I've just been more cautious when racking the slide since, but, yeah, it has some sharp edges.

Precisely why I do not shoot Glocks anymore. Came away from every match bleeding like a stuck pig. Worked fine if shooting from low ready, but from a draw, I'd be bleeding by the 2d stage.

Stick a PPK in my hand and it'd be off to the hospital for surgery!

I've got a lot of meat on the web of my hands, but I don't seem to have that problem with the SR9c. You must have a set of paws on ya!
