I think that with the heavier bullets, 1.680 is max OAL. Check your loading manual for the bullets that you want to load.
If you are talking standard bullets 110, 125, 158 then just crimp into the crimp groove and you'll be fine. I don't recall having any problems with 180s either that I used to load (but that was in a NM) .
According to gunblast the OM .357 Cylinder length is 1.602 . The head on a cartridge is .060 ... So absolute max is 1.662 which is really tight. From Spec. 1.590 is max OAL.
