Can't decide between the Mark III or the 22/45 both in 6" . Pros and cons of both? I've never owned a Ruger 22 pistol and have decided to get one for ground hog duty when I'm out checking fences on the property.

I was a confirmed MK?(bought/used/sold several) guy until I bought a MKII 22/45. I found I preferred the grip angle and the synthetic material. When I decided I wanted a 22/45 threaded muzzle model, the logical trading piece was a mint condition MKIII 6 7/8". Now I'm totally 22/45 equipped.

I couldn't make up my mind either so I bought a 6" MKIII upper and put it on a MKIII 22/45 lower stuffed with all the goodies. Actually the 22/45 grip frame fits me like a glove.

I have both. The 22/45 bull barrel and the MK III Target. I cannot say I prefer one over the other. It would be whatever makes YOU happy; not what someone here prefers.

22/45 or Mark III ? Trick question....

Both of course...

ChattanoogaPhil,

Aren't they both 22/45s?

What are the cans? I'm ready to buy one. I'm thinking 22/45 4" bull bbl. threaded. Don't know beans about cans but want one.

Are they screw-on or 3 lug.

Many thanks!!

The one on top is a Ruger Mark III Target Talo Edition. It comes with a 4in threaded barrel, picatinny mount and no sights. It's wearing a Silencerco Sparrow and Burris FFIII. The other is a Ruger 22/45 Threaded Barrel. It comes with a 4.5in threaded barrel, two picatinny mounts and no sights. It's wearing a YHM Wraith and Primary Amrs MicroDot.

The best answer to your question, is what others have said. Hold both. If you get a chance, shoot both. Which one do YOU like better?

I've owned both in the past. Neither now. But I recently ordered a MKIII, so yes, I like that better than the 22/45. The one I had, featured the 1911 style grip panels. I had a Hogue rubber wraparound 1911 grip on it.
