Mark IV owners: What changes have you made to yours?

Once I get mine back from Ruger, I may get the Hi-Vis front fiber optic sight for it as I liked it when I got to check it out on a Mark IV Hunter at the gun store near me. I like the Hunter wood grips too, but really liked the ones with the thumb rest on the Competition model the gun store had. I wish I could find those for it.

I may get the top rail later if I decide to try out a red dot sight on it. For now though, I'll stick with the iron sights. No big major changes for me, just minor tweaks.

What have you done to yours to "make it your own?"

Target model in blue, I liked the OEM oversized grips but wasn't fond of the set offered by Ruger, the checkering didn't do it for me. The HiViz sight was a must and I ordered the smooth oversized grips right from Altamont. The fit on the grips BTW is phenomenal.

Those grips look great! That's some excellent wood grain, and I like how they look against the black of the gun. Very nice!

When you added the Hi-Viz sight, did you have to readjust your rear sight any or was it the same height as the original?

Sounds nice! The Ruger supervisor today reminded me about the discount when I said I wanted to get a few accessories. I'll have to go see what is available.

Yup, I love the grips and Altamont was great to deal with. The sight measured .005" shorter than the iron sight which is basically nothing, no adjustment was necessary.

Yep, they are available in black, gray, red, blue (as shown) and olive drab and in dot sizes from 2 MOA to 16 MOA. They are a bit long and heavy but very solid and versatile.

I've got some Williams Fire Sights fiber optic sights coming that I found on ebay that I'll try on my pistol, plus grabbed a couple of extra Ruger magazines. I'm still checking out grips, but there's not a lot out there for the IV yet so I might have to wait a bit.

Got my fiber optic sights, plus found a couple of magazines on Ebay, and lucked out last night and found someone selling the Competition grips because they were left handed and had ordered themselves a standard wood set from Ruger and so I got a brand new set from a new gun plus screws. Once I get the gun back from Ruger and put the sights and grips on, she'll go from this.... (using Photoshop to mock it up...)

I purchased the fiber front site.
But soon removed it because "for me" the gun was still shooting too low.
Muzzle covered the bulls eye when shooting.....
Adjusting the rear sight to "max high" did nothing,so.....I eventually shaved down the factory metal front sight and painted it with "white" dolla' store nail polish
Gun is zeroed in at the 6 o'clock setting on the bulls eye.

Got my gun back from Ruger, so here she is with the Competition model grips and the HiViz fiber optic front sight I added. I also have the Williams Fire sight rear sight I'll add later.

I'd like to change the thumb safety. On the 22/45 model it rubs the crap out of the outside of my thumb, as I use a " 2 thumbs up " grip and it is in the wrong place. No problem on the Hunter model, the different grip angle puts it out of thumb scraping range.
Anyone else have this minor issue?
