Mark II Bolt / Ear Styles

While browsing, I noticed a photo of a customized Mk II with a modified bolt. Out of curiosity, what kind of part is this and where can it be found?

Any good machinist/gunsmith can scallop out the bolt ears to look like that.

This is something you don't want to do if your Ruger has the infamous two piece bolt. It will most likely hasten the seperation of the ears from the bolt.

welcome to the forum, yessir looks like a fine machine job to us, be hard to do that by "eye" with a grinder & a round file ( or two).....BUT enough time and patience, and it could be done....... :roll:

Is the taper at the rear of that receiver also "dished out?"

From the photo, it looks to me like the taper at the rear of the receiver is perhaps radiused inward, as opposed to the regular straight cut.
