Pretty sure that I'm SOL, but I have to ask anyway. I have a (new to me) Mark I that the ammo jams in the magazine after I put in 3 rounds. I can get more ammo in but it won't feed into the chamber when shooting. Just wondering if there is anyway to tear it apart to clean it or if you have any other suggestions. And also will a Mark II magazine fit in a Mark I? Thanks for any help that you can offer.

If you have a Mark I magazine with the fixed bottom block, disassembly is accomplished by pushing the follower down from the top with a long instrument until the follower button reaches the circular cut-out at the bottom of the follower slot. Then slide out the button through the hole, while maintaining pressure on the follower, and carefully relax the downward pressure until the follower exits the top of the magazine body.

I solved that problem by using MKII mags. They fit perfectly except for the "button." The newer ones with the flat button are best. Joe

Thanks for the replies. IIRC, I did try to see if my Mark II mags fit in the Mark I and they did, but didn't remember if there'd be a feeding problem or not. And now I know how to tear my Mark I mag apart to try and solve that problem. Thanks again.

make sure the sides of the magazine are NOT "pinched" together,no burrs on the aluminum followrr and the springs is "correct", the zig, -zag, pattern is NOT "boogered",,,the finally the magazine 'lips" are correctly adjusted..............................
also check the "slot" on the sides is NOT burred, the button moves freely up and down......donl;t throw them away, they can be "fixed"
