Had a problem at the range last week that boggles the mind ! need any help or suggestions that might solve or at least give me a clue.

After firing about 100 rounds almost flawlessly, using Std Velocity Armscor FMJ, I switched to a box of Hi vel HP. also by Armscor.
Alternating using 2 mags with 10 rounds each ;
mag #1 no problem
mag #2 9th round had a Failure to Feed.
mag #1 9th round had a Failure to Feed.
mag # 2 9th round had a Failure to Feed.
mag # 1 9th round had a Failure to Feed.

Only clue is that each bullet was slightly askew when removed.

Thanks for any help,

to ME, it sounds like the ammo, and thats the first thing we always look at, THEN, the magazines, and finally a good cleaning,of the chamber, bolt face and extractor.....then you can get into the mechanics of anything hanging up, proper extractor "fit" (hook) and the slot in the side of the chamber ...........much like a car, you find the ammo that works the best for THAT gun, when its a revolver ,you can put in about anything, mix and match.... 8)

If it was working fine with one type of ammo and then you had problems with the second type of ammo, it begs the question. After you started having problems with the second ammo type , did you try the first ammo again?

FWIW, I would try that and clean the gun and mags to see where you are.

Thanks to you all.

Gun was bought used.

field stripped and it fires 100 ok.

My concern that it was the 9th round 4 times in a row.

Maybe I didn't load correctly (as easy as it is).

Thanks to all

That 9th round on every one is kind of strange... I'd have to guess on the magazine except it was two different ones....
hmm... change ammo (this is almost always the problem) just oil the gun down real good and make sure there is nothing stuck in the loading channel ..... clean mags? I know all this has already been suggested.
