Planning on bedding the action and thinking about a full free float. any recommendations appreciated. Shoots great now just trying to improve on, After 30+years.
Thanks Guys
Have this passion to free float for years. Do believe will start the project soon. The trigger upgrade was also in my thoughts. It also is the .220 Swift . Would like to find a thumb hole stock for this tang safety.
Heavy Barrel, you stated your M77V .220 Swift was a liberty model, but the bolt handle cutout looks to be from a flatbolt. Is that in fact the case? BTW, very nice Canjar trigger & it's probably one of the best ever made.
You've got good eyes, the stock is from an old flat bolt 22-250V that the original owner cut the barrel to 20".Used that stock instead of modifying my original.A liittle sloppy around the bolt handle but everything else fit.
It can't hurt to do it although it doesn't always help. Sometimes rifles shoot as good as they are going to without modification. If you have reason to believe that the action is moving in the stock under recoil then absolutely do it. Floating the barrel is probably a good move as the barrel has some rigidity being a heavy contour.
