Anyone have a ruger compact m77 in 7.62x39?

There's one on gunbroker and I'd be interested in knowing if they are accurate? Good with steel surplus ?

I have a couple, in .243 and .260
They both will shoot 1/2 moa with some trigger work and handloads.
Wouldn't sell either one.

I've got the 7.62x39 Hawkeye Compact. With my handloads it will shoot 1moa 5 shot groups. Occasionally under 1 moa. With most of the surplus stuff it is 2-4 moa. Golden Tiger is consistently 1.25 moa. I love this little rifle. I bought it to shoot the surplus stuff, but then I had to get dies and brass. Now I almost never shoot surplus ammo out of it.

Buckeye - I've one. With American factory ammo its a 1.5MOA at best...have not hand-loaded for it yet. As for ComBlock (sorry not quite PC) ammo I have not used it.
Lottsa folks at the range like the M77 and, since adding a thicker recoil pad to increase LOP, a joy to shoot. Sort of like a bolt .30-30. BarnOwl
