My m77 is giving me trouble. Safety bolt stop won't open after assembling the rifle. Works fine out of the wood. Driving me nuts. Older 1975 tang safety.
I am confused about the "safety bolt stop" situation. With tang safety there is a small rod that moves to put safety on or off and perhaps that rod is making contact with the stock, might want to check that out. The newer Model 77's with what is commonly known as a wing safety does away with the small rod to activate the safety either safety on or off, but lets you open the bolt safely in the middle position. Not much help, I know, sorry.
