There are several knowledgeable people here. The best advise would be to subscribe to the RENE and check out Chad's books.

Thanks Hittman for the information. Who on the forum is knowledgeable about these guns?

Want me to move this to the Rimfire Section? If so it may get more views and answers on your questions. You're welcome to post specific questions. There are MANY here with info about these guns ..... be patient and they'll visit the forum this week of over the weekend for sure.

If you're looking to BUY MK I's and II's put a WTB ad here in the Classifieds. And ..... just a bit further down this page is this:

FS: 1949 4 DIGIT RED EAGLE #2099 ** SPECIAL PRICE DROP

Hittman: Thanks for the word of mouth

Ruger Auto: WELCOME - There are many knowledgable people here

The early 4 digit I have posted in the classifieds (link above) is an outstanding & fairly rare addition to any collection but there are others that come up

Subscribe the the RENE, read all you can

I suggest asking specific questions here - many will reply and you will learn
However, one could not write all they know with braod based information as it would fill up 100 forums alone

If you are interested in Ruger .22 Autos then you should try to find this book!!! 'ENCYCLOPEDIA OF RUGER SEMI-AUTOMATIC RIMFIRE PISTOLS . 1949-1992". by Chad Hiddleson. See photos below. As Chad describes the different models he will show a photo of the gun on the left side of the book and then give a description of the gun and the serial number range on the right side of the book. Although no book is 100 percent complete you will find that this one will beat all the other Auto books hands down. See photos below.

Chad's book shown is the best

Been used numerous times personally and worth every penny along with his R.E.N.E.

A MUST have for anyone serious

You might want to check these two out on Armslist from Monday 12/30 in Rock Hill, S.C.
They look good to me but you can't ever tell about Armslist.

To go with Xsales Red Eagle Standard, I will have a Red Eagle Mark 1 for sale in a couple of weeks; away from the house due to the holidays and won't be able to provide pictures till I get back. It has it's original box, numbered to the gun, which is somewhat worn, particularly the hinge, and original manual, both of which are hard to find. Those two guns would be a good base for any collection of .22 pistols.

What would something like that be worth?

I currently have a few red eagles, standards and Mark 1's along with a couple 200 year auto's and a couple RCA "Ruger Collectors Association" guns. Another collector was telling me about D and S guns. From the sound of things those are the guns I should try and find. Anyone have any of those for sale?

I have been selling off a collection of MKs . I also have a extra copy of Chads book , let me know what you are looking for ? D.K. not to mention patches, pins , cups, plates, jackets, ect.

I found a nice Mark 1 today at a local show that has a 5 1/4" barrel for 375.00. The guy also had a Magnaport Mark 1 but he said something about them not being a factory made gun ???
