This kind of hits close to home. Probably could be several of us on here. I know I have concerns and don't want us to be a burden on our kids.

I gave a sad face, because it hits close to home. My Grandmother is almost 100 and is in better health than my mom. They take care of each other.

Linda and I added a carriage house 22 years ago to our place to take on her Mother. We were both still working, I was traveling the US so it kept Linda busy while I was gone. She was a sweet old lady, but I can tell you for sure sometimes I'd just have to go beat my head against a tree and keep my mouth shut, which I did. She has been gone now since December 2019, her last act was to leave all she had remaining to Linda, which really pissed the other two Sisters big time. My Sister did the same thing for our Mom at her place. We were taking the other day how and where we might end up, we are both childless. I told her I was going to find some little Chinese lady to move in Grammy's place and take care of us and just leave the whole place to her when we're gone.
I know from personal experience that I am SO thankful to my kids. During Linda's ongoing problems they have all been there to help in various ways. At 86 I don't bounce around like I used to; the mind still does but the body rebels.
