Has anybody noticed that Ruger has recently filled out the 88- prefix on their serial numbers for the Super Blackhawk and went to 89- ? Just saw a Lipsey's 4-5/8" stainless .454 on gunbroker serial number 89-00214. You may remember that the 89- prefix originally started off at 89-00501 for the 50th Anniversary .44 flattop in 2006 and those went to 89-05067 before production was sent to Prescott, AZ where they started new at 870-00001 and Ruger never went back to make the earliest 500 in the 89- prefix, so subscribers were left out of those except for receiving a 870- gun.
Anyway, for those interested, Ruger could have recently filled out the first 500 serial numbers of the 89- with any Super Blackhawk model, but there just may be some single-digit or early two-digit guns in the new Lipsey's .454.
If anybody has a Lipsey's 4-5/8" .454, we would be curious to know the earliest serial numbers of this one. They may have even began in the very late 88- prefix.

I think your are right that it could be any model Super Blackhawk. I just received SN 89-06269 this week from Ruger. Its a KS-458N model 814. Basically the 4 5/8" SS 44 mag model.
So it does appear Ruger picked up somewhere after 89-05067. Could be some duplicates in there as well?
I would have thought Ruger would just not worry about filling out the 89-00001-00500 SN's.
