I'm looking for an aftermarket stock that is as light or lighter than the factory M77 MKII synthetic stock while also being stiffer. Any of the styles with aluminum bedding blocks are going to be too heavy. I also prefer not to have a cheek piece. The B&C Carbelite stocks and Brown Precision seem to be the only two manufacturers that I can find that meet those requirements, but I've heard hit and miss reviews of B&C and Brown Precision is priced a bit higher than I'd like to pay.
I tried the Hogue stock and while I really really like the feel of it I don't like the added weight because my Ruger is my elk gun.
If there aren't any stocks available that meet those requirements I guess I'll just pillar bed and float the factory stock and replace that brick they call a recoil pad.
