I have a Ruger #1 and when fired the force of the firing pin does not strike the primer of the round sufficently to fire the rifle. Any ideas?

Thanks for any help

That was once mentioned in a magazine article. A good cleaning fixed it. There were bits of leaves, lint, etc. in the action.

Thanks! Ahhhh, I thought of that. I did my best to clean everything out but no help so far. If I could disassembel the fireing pin, spring and striker I would go farther but it seems that I need some way to pull the pin holding the above parts in the falling block out. I am afraid of prying on the pin as I feel that might damage the surface of the falling block. Is there a tool to do that?
