We just purchased about 50 acres for hunting, whatever. Starting to look into liability insurance and figured i would throw it out there and see if any if any of yall had recommendations or someone that yall have used and been pleased with.

Ill start calling around locally, but didnt think it would hurt to ask the forum.

I do not know if it would apply in your situation but check on a million dollar "umbrella" policy. I have one from State Farm and the cost is very reasonable.

Talk to the company that carries your home and auto policies. They can make sure your policies work together to maximize your protection.

I bundled vehicle, house and farm insurance with State Farm and got a huge discount. Not sure what our liability coverge is here but we require $500K of liability ins from the renter on our north farm due to the highway frontage.

Some states have strange statutes.
My land in MI was non-commercial farm, so hunting land for me.
That meant I was not insurable for commercial uses. Commercial uses included requiring or accepting monies in exchange for use in any manner.

That meant that if I charged any fee or exchange, for permission to hunt on my land, that any injury etc. would not , repeat NOT be covered by insurance.
Conversely, permission without any verbal or non-verbal "contract" would provide coverage under my paid insurance.
:? read your policy and get written answers.

Friend of mine does fall archery and spring turkey leases on a farm and his Farm Bureau policy had a rider available that covers everything from a guest shooting livestock, each other, falling out of tree stands, driving through fences, etc. No Idea what it cost, but he charges $2500 + trophy fees for a big whitetail deer hunt so I figure the insurance is part of that fee.
