LCR rattles

Have a new to me LCR 38. Seems to shoot fine but it has a rattle in the area. Can the action be opened and if so, how. Is this something to let Ruger handle or can it be done oneself. I have some experience with S&W revolvers but not the LCR, thanks for the help.

It's normal...it's the transfer bar that rattles around loose until it is engaged.

Ruger really oughta print "IT'S A RUGER, IT'S SUPPOSED TO RATTLE!" prominently on the outside of all transfer bar equipped product boxes.
In large dayglo print, so it'll be noticed.
Repeated on the front cover of the instruction manual.
And stamped prominently on the frame.

Thanks for the replys, been away from Ruger for a while. Don't remember my SBH rattling like that. Guess I'll have to see if duct tape will help!

Any Ruger with the bar is subject to the Ruger Rattle.
Some louder'n others, but I'd worry more if it didn't rattle at least a little than if it did.

And, duct tape is ALWAYS an option.

Super Blackhawks don't rattle. They have a spring loaded plunger in the end of the center pin that puts backward tension on the transfer bar so it does not rattle.

The DA guns all rattle. No one will hear it but you. LOL!
